Lil Wayne….Genius?

Lil Wayne is nothing short of a legend with today’s youth and in the rapper / hip hop communities.
Being the mother of 3 teenage girls, I’m not immune to the latest craze and am all-too-familiar with Lil Wayne’s story.
I’ve got to be honest with you, I’m a sucker for a good beat and while I don’t always agree with the message, the guys got talent oozing from his pores.
Well, I was up late one night and I happened to walk in the room when there was a special documentary about the life of Lil Wayne.
At that time, I had never even seen the guy and I joined my starry-eyed kids.
The guy certainly doesn’t care what people think of him and it’s evidenced by every ounce of his body. He is who he is and he isn’t moved by anybody. But it wasn’t the story of his life that made me really sit up and pay attention that night.
There was one little mention of something that will forever stand out in my mind because it really shed light on the reality of who gets noticed and who fades away.
You see, Lil Wayne was driven to succeed and what he did to achieve that dream was what amazed me.
He knew he needed to be everywhere in this industry to really be noticed and that’s exactly what he did.
He put himself right in the middle of the action. He began recording with other artists and right smack in the middle of it all, there was Lil Wayne doin’ his thing like only he knows how to do.
A person can barely even listen to a piece by a rapper or hip hop artist without hearing Lil Wayne. He’s nothing short of genius!
Like him or hate him, it doesn’t matter. He is who he is and he’s certainly made a name for himself doing something he loves to do.
As network marketers, we need to learn a very valuable lesson from this guy. We need to be right in the middle of it all by placing ourselves there, raising our hand and rising to the occasion. We need to not care what others think about us and live out our true authentic selves.
We need to be everywhere at once and with the internet, that IS possible!
Go out there and make yourself larger than life itself!
Nobody is going to do it for you.
So You Wanna Be a Leader? Quit with the Cut and Paste
Imagine your response if you were surfing the web and came across something YOU wrote, but it’s on someone else’s website and they aren’t even on your team….. and it’s EXACTLY like how you wrote it. No spin off, but the exact content with your style and THEIR name. Hmmm….So you wanna be a leader, huh? Listen up…..this is a somewhat funny story.
Buck Up! Nobody Said It Would Be Easy!
Well, I thought I’d step aside from Powerpoint for a while
and just do something I actually enjoy doing. Writing!
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy being creative with slide shows,
however, I’m not much for figuring out a program as complex
as Powerpoint for a just a few simple presentations.
In all honesty, I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the information
I’ve had to read to try to get it through my head how to
put a little 5 minute presentation together. Ugh!
It’s not really my thing….lol….but hey,
sometimes we’ve just got to put our head down and tackle it!
So that’s exactly what I’ve done.
Regardless of how much I dislike the task
and no matter how much of a chore it is at the moment,
I know there will be a moment where the light bulb clicks on
and all the puzzle pieces will come together.
Then, I’ll be able to help others with their presentations.
There is always a great reward that follows the intense effort.
Liken this to network marketing (or marriage, day-to-day living, our J.O.B.).
Nobody said it would be easy!
But for those of us who embrace the challenge….
great things will come our way.
I’m excited about the path I am on and can look back and see the beauty
of my hard work, determination and ‘bring it on’ attitude.
You see, even when things come our way that aren’t so desirable,
we should ask ourselves this one question.
“Is this going to sharpen me, build character, allow me to help others and
essentially bring value to those around me?”
If so….I say, “Go for it”!
The Downfall of Privacy of Facebook
When someone tags me in a note or a video and they are a part of my team
or someone I enjoy networking with on Facebook,
I will often times share the information with my friends as well.
It’s a really great way of highlighting someone I work with and
it also helps them out because if they are relatively new to network marketing,
they may not have very many friends yet who are seeing their posts.
But something occurred to me today as I shared a really great note my friend had posted.
You see, I’ve got over 4,000 friends on Facebook and she could really reach a larger crowd
if I posted her note. However, when someone reads the note and there aren’t any links
directly on her note so people who are interested can meet her by visiting her website or blog,
they are shucks out of luck because on Facebook…..most people have their profiles set to….
Dah…dah….dah…..PRIVATE!
What????
I’m scratching my head on this one as a network marketer.
If you are in network marketing and you want to be able to give people the opportunity
to snoop around on your page, find out more about who you are, what you do,
what you have to offer and…..your links…..then,
by all means, open up the floodgates by making your profile public.
Trust me, people will still ask you to be a friend.
You see, my friends post is now being seen my the masses because Facebook is viral
and all of my friends see it, as well as their friends.
However, nobody will know how to contact my friend because there is no link to meet her.
Her page is most likely set to private so they won’t be able to get any more info about her
unless they ask her to be a friend and sometimes that can take a few days for people to
get around to accepting friendship requests.
So keep that in mind. If you are here to network, you don’t have anything to hide.
Dare to go public with what you’ve got.
It’s just so much simpler that way!
How is Social Media Going for YOU?
Social Media got you down? Well, you’re not alone.
I’m giving you a couple little tips that may help you on your journey.
After I created the video, I realized I should have added something….. while
I use to manually follow a large number of people on Twitter, there have been
some changes since then.
Twitter’s cracked the whip and Facebook has made some changes as well.
So be careful! Keep a steady pace and go out and create a circle of friends to connect with.

Strategies Behind Social Media Marketing
The Social Network Marketing scene is all the rage and if you haven’t implemented marketing yourself in this light, you’re going to want to take a seat and familiarize yourself with this marketing medium.
It’s a common misconception that social sites are limited to those who are looking to meet a mate or for the younger generations. Truth is, there is an ever growing population of mature adults who are all grown up and very familiar with the online scene! These sites provide the prefect opportunity for you to meet other like-minded individuals and it’s a very important part of working online.
Hands down, the most important step you want to make before creating your profile is learning how to brand yourself online. It’s really important that you consider the various ways to brand yourself and learn the effective techniques of branding before you begin creating your profiles.
After you’ve become the branding expert, go and create those profiles!
Another key element of networking is developing relationships with people online. It’s important to build trust with people and provide valuable resources and information. The more friends you make online, the more likely your information will get into the hands of the right people you are looking for. You have to establish a relationship built on trust before anyone will join you.
When adding friends, look for people who share a common interest. For instance, if you are a woman with children, you may consider adding other moms to your list of friends. Perhaps you have children with disabilities or health issues. Maybe you are looking for people who live in the same area as you. Whatever the case, adding others who have something in common is a great starting point. Don’t forget to invite others who are currently working from home and appear to have a very successful business!
The following are social networking sites that I find myself utilizing on a regular basis. I find them easy to navigate and have had a great response and have enjoyed getting to know others who share the same vision.
Of course, there are a lot of other social media sites that you can join to help you build your presence online. If you’re anything like me, you will find yourself utilizing some sites more often than others. The important thing is to just create your profile and begin getting your name out there!
So get started today! Just take one site at a time and have fun creating your profile. The social media sites are a fabulous way to build your online presence and begin creating the lifestyle of your dreams by helping others succeed!
Effective Online Marketing
The internet is the most powerful tool for you to build a business that reaches far beyond your friends and family.
Say ‘good-bye’ to having to personally have to chase down people to talk to them about your business. There are various ways you can position yourself online to create a rock solid web presence that will bring people to you. No kidding! Keep reading…..
The world we live in today is absolutely nothing compared to the world we lived in half a century ago. Realistically, if I just think about what role the computer played in my life even 12 years ago I’m in shock. I didn’t even know how to use the internet 12 years ago and now I personally don’t see any reason for having a computer without the internet.
Consumers alike use the internet for just about everything!
- Research
- Consumer Purchases
- Online Advertising
- Dating
- Social Networking Sites
- Blog Marketing
- Communicating
- Homework
- Personal Development
- Selling Personal Items…..etc.
The list is endless but I think you get my point. If you aren’t online you’re missing a huge piece of the pie. Feeling overwhelmed? Don’t worry! We all do in the beginning. Set aside some time each day to learn something new and put those things you’ve learned into practice. Before you know it, you’ll be an expert! Expect success!
Now, the following are a few great ways for you to begin getting your name online. There will be certain aspects of marketing online that are more appealing to you than others. Start out with the things you are more comfortable with and branch out from there. Eventually, you will have your name out and people will be asking you for help!
Writing Articles – I personally enjoy writing articles for Ezine Articles and consider this to be a great tool. You can choose to write about anything you’d like but consider the audience you are trying to target. For instance, if you are trying to reach people who are interested in health and wellness, write an article about something health related. There is an opportunity for you to write a short author bio and this is where you can put a link to your website. Not only does this generate traffic to your site but it also gets your name out to the masses. Unlike a newspaper, writing an article online one time puts your information out on the internet for years to come!
Blog Marketing – A blog is nothing short of an online diary or series of short writings. It’s a great way for you to allow others to get to know you by writing about something of value. Steer clear of writing about useless pieces of information. The goal is to get people to follow you. Over time, this translates into building a relationship with others and creating a relationship built on trust. Keep in mind that you want to attract people to you and not lead with your products or your business opportunity. Give them something of value and their interest will be peaked.
Social Media Marketing – Social networking sites are one of my favorite ways to meet new people and believe me, I’ve met people from all over the country that are friends and business partners to this day!
Build Your Own Website – Whether you are an html pro or not, a personal website is a must. Be creative and provide good content that will add value to those who are investigating working at home. Most importantly, just be yourself and allow people a sneak peak into your world.
Attraction Marketing – Welcome to the truth! People are looking for leaders and people they can trust. It’s really not all about your products or what special you have to offer. They want to know about you! Find out how you can learn more about what it means to ‘attract’ people to you by downloading my free ebook, ‘Success in 10 Steps’. This information has completely changed my mindset!
