Are Your Prospects Happily Married?
Jamie walked into the club, excited to reconnect with old friends. She’d set this date on her calendar months ago and spent all day getting ready for the big occasion.
The first to arrive, Jamie waited patiently for the arrival of her friends. It had been a few years since their last gathering and she was thrilled
to hear all about what had transpired in their lives and share the excitement in her own.
As her friends filed in one by one, Jamie noticed someone new in the group and felt the attraction stir within her. Not only was Alex strikingly handsome, but he also seems to have the qualities she was looking for in a man.
As the evening progressed, a woman sat down next to Alex and Jamie was disappointed to find out this was his wife. She began to mentally tear her apart to shreds.
Overcome by jealousy, Jamie’s attitude left much to be desired as she verbally sliced and diced Alex’s wife with her sarcasm and cutting humor. Alex was insulted and offended by the comments made and abruptly left the conversation in disgust, wife in tow.
Maybe you’ve never had this situation happen to you, but if you are in network marketing, I imagine you’ve encountered people along the way who have torn you and your business to shreds.
Perhaps you have been the one who was doing the slicing and dicing.
If and when you meet someone who already has a business, consider them married. Don’t be the first one to tell them their products are overpriced, their comp plan doesn’t pay and they’re involved in a company lacking in integrity.
In other words, don’t tell them their wife has a big wart on her nose, is overweight, can’t cook and has no personality!
They’ll put up a wall so fast you won’t know what hit you!
It’s much better to find those areas that you can agree upon and partner together to share what is working for you and how you can help each other. It comes down to the partnership and if that person ever decides their business isn’t working out for them, they will have already built a relationship based on trust with you and perhaps join you in
your business.
If someone is married to their MLM, don’t tempt them to cheat on their spouse. There are plenty of prospects who are single and looking.
Would You Throw a $50 Bill Out the Window While Driving on the I-5?
Everybody in network marketing knows they need fresh leads
flowing through their business to experience any real growth.
Most people would like to learn how to generate their own leads.
Some people know how to attract quality leads into their business
who are ready to join them, cash in hand.
Then there are those people who foolishly throw their money to the wind,
buying leads from various sources because their upline promised them
the leads were “XYZ Company specific.”
BULL!!!!
Here’s what it typically looks like when purchased leads are called:
1) The person doesn’t want to work at home and claims they never
asked for information.
2) They aren’t even over the age of 18 and just filled out an online
form to win a computer.
3) They don’t understand the value of building a residual income and
you’re starting out at ground zero trying to convince them it’s
not a “scam”.
4) They just lost their job and need to make money right away but
they don’t have any money to start.
5) The number provided is wrong…..what a waste of time and money!
6) They don’t have a clue about network marketing and think getting
online and playing Mafia Wars and Farmville is somehow going to
rake in the big bucks!
7) When they open their mouths, they say things like “I can’t”, “I hope”
and “I tried”. N-E-X-T!
When you listen closely, you hear every excuse in the book as to why
they won’t be able to work at home.
9) You well candles and the guy tells you he’s highly allergic to candles.
(So much for your “candle specific” lead.)
I could go on.
I think by now you get the point,
especially if you’ve “been-there-done-that”.
Buying leads is a complete WASTE of your time and money.
You need QUALITY leads. Leads that WANT to work at home
and HAVE the money to get started and KNOW that MLM
works and are willing to do what it takes and move forward.
This is a statement I stand by…
“Build it Once, Build it BIG and Build it to Last a Lifetime”

The Heavy Hitters will tell you that network marketing is all about SALES.
Don’t believe it.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
If it’s not the truth…..then it’s a LIE. Plain and simple.
So let me give you the TRUTH…..
Network Marketing is about teaching, mentoring and building others up.
It’s about studying people so you can help them reach their dreams.
It’s not about you.
It’s all about THEM!
Wow….what a concept!
Listen, people join people.
They don’t join companies.
People really don’t care about the founder of your company. (YAWN)
They don’t care about how many kids he has or what kind of dog he has. (double Yawn)
When you BUILD people…..people will build your business.
(wink)
Guess what?
When you build PEOPLE…..your retention rate will shoot to the moon!
You’re with me on this, right?
You know what I’m talkin’ about?
Sure you do! Because your SMART!

Why 97% of Network Marketers end up DEAD in the Water with a Fish in their Mouth!
Everybody knows that 97% of network marketers don’t really make a dime!
There’s an old saying and it goes like this:
“Hard work has absolutely nothing to do with progress.”
You can work as hard as you want to but if you’re moving in the WRONG direction,
you’ll end up dead in the water with a fish in your mouth!
Not pretty.
Most people HATE selling.
Most people HATE recruiting.
Most people HATE cold calls.
and
Most people HATE the fact that they spend hours upon hours each day
spinning their wheels trying to build a business online and they just
don’t have two nickels to rub together!
Sound familiar?
Yeah, I thought so.
Well, you know there are lots of people in this industry that want you to believe
that ALL you need to do is be more of YOU, think positive, visualize, be more motivated,
change your attitude, set more goals and create the hottest dream board on the block, believe in the products and create relationships with your prospects.
Add a few chants to that mix and you’ll have the real deal! NOT!
Whew, I’m exhausted already!
Look, don’t get me wrong. These things are all great but they aren’t going
to make you any real money.
But what you really need are SKILLS!
Most people want to make a lot of money and they want to do it as quickly
as possible without a lot of mess.
But without the skills, we all know you won’t be making the cash flow you desire.
Would it be okay if I pointed you in the RIGHT direction so you can spend LESS time
on your business and MORE time with your family?
Are You Sharing Your Time with Winners or Losers???
After speaking with my mentor, Juanita Waterman,
I decided I was going to write down the kind of person
I am looking to partner with in my business.
I’ve learned to not work with just anyone.
The “interview” process is a two way street
and I know exactly what kind of person
I’m willing and ready to run with.
So this is what I came up with.
Notice, it’s in present tense specifically because
of the effect this has on the subconscious mind.

If you haven’t really given it any thought as to
who you are willing to share your time with, please do.
But don’t just stop there.
Write it down and say it out loud several times each day.
This is a proven and effective way to achieve your dreams!
The Downfall of Privacy of Facebook
When someone tags me in a note or a video and they are a part of my team
or someone I enjoy networking with on Facebook,
I will often times share the information with my friends as well.
It’s a really great way of highlighting someone I work with and
it also helps them out because if they are relatively new to network marketing,
they may not have very many friends yet who are seeing their posts.
But something occurred to me today as I shared a really great note my friend had posted.
You see, I’ve got over 4,000 friends on Facebook and she could really reach a larger crowd
if I posted her note. However, when someone reads the note and there aren’t any links
directly on her note so people who are interested can meet her by visiting her website or blog,
they are shucks out of luck because on Facebook…..most people have their profiles set to….
Dah…dah….dah…..PRIVATE!
What????
I’m scratching my head on this one as a network marketer.
If you are in network marketing and you want to be able to give people the opportunity
to snoop around on your page, find out more about who you are, what you do,
what you have to offer and…..your links…..then,
by all means, open up the floodgates by making your profile public.
Trust me, people will still ask you to be a friend.
You see, my friends post is now being seen my the masses because Facebook is viral
and all of my friends see it, as well as their friends.
However, nobody will know how to contact my friend because there is no link to meet her.
Her page is most likely set to private so they won’t be able to get any more info about her
unless they ask her to be a friend and sometimes that can take a few days for people to
get around to accepting friendship requests.
So keep that in mind. If you are here to network, you don’t have anything to hide.
Dare to go public with what you’ve got.
It’s just so much simpler that way!
Stop Chasing Money and Start Adding Value
When I finally came to a place in my life and in my business
where I began to put people before products and before my pocketbook
….great things began to happen.
Offering free information means I’m adding value to others in this industry
and extending a helping hand without any hidden motives.
It’s about building relationships with people and encouraging them on their journey.
Along the way, I’ve met amazing people who have appreciated my help
and have joined me in my business. For those who haven’t joined me,
they know I am always here to help them whether they eventually join or not.
It’s about helping them……not about me.
I’ve truly appreciated the people who have come along side me and built me up
to be the person I am today. The coaching and mentoring I’ve received has been life changing.
I want to give that back to anyone and everyone who raises their hand.
It’s when we stop chasing the money and add value to others that the money comes.
That is freedom and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Your Business will Tank without a Proven Duplicatable System
I was on a very important private phone call yesterday with
Michael Dlouhy, author of ‘Success in 10 Steps’ and
founder of Mentoring for Free.
He told me a story that shed some light on WHY so many
people in network marketing are having such a difficult
time finding QUALITY leads for their business.
You see, 30 years ago, Michael was approached by a man
who sold life insurance. Michael quickly saw the benefits
of building a residual income by selling life insurance but
didn’t see eye to eye with the man who wanted to
partner with him.
In order to build his business, Michael was asked to go home
and write down the names and phone numbers of EVERY single
person he had come into contact with since he was about
five years old. (sound familiar?)
Michael asked, “Why?”
He was told, “Because you’re going to contact every single one
of those people and sell them life insurance.”
Michael quickly said, “I can’t (won’t) do that.”
So the guy refused to work with Michael.
Now, some might ask WHY Michael refused to listen to his upline.
Here’s why. The answer is simple, really.
Michael knew that in order for him to succeed,
he needed a target market.
He needed to talk with people who already understood the
importance of life insurance so he could demonstrate how
he could save them money with the life insurance company
he was with.
These people already ‘got it’.
He didn’t have to talk them into anything.
He wrote one simple ad in a local newspaper and got
such an incredible response that he couldn’t keep up
with the phone calls!
Apply this principle to your network marketing company.
You need quality leads that specifically want what you have.
You need to identify your target market.
Without leads, your business will tank.
Tank? Yes, you will have to shut your doors if you don’t
have a lead generating system that is proven and duplicatable.
