Lil Wayne….Genius?

March 9th, 2010 by sabrinacoffin

LilWayne_115606_08062008

Lil Wayne is nothing short of a legend with today’s youth and in the rapper / hip hop communities.

Being the mother of 3 teenage girls, I’m not immune to the latest craze and am all-too-familiar with Lil Wayne’s story.

I’ve got to be honest with you, I’m a sucker for a good beat and while I don’t always agree with the message, the guys got talent oozing from his pores.

Well, I was up late one night and I happened to walk in the room when there was a special documentary about the life of Lil Wayne.

At that time, I had never even seen the guy and I joined my starry-eyed kids.

The guy certainly doesn’t care what people think of him and it’s evidenced by every ounce of his body.  He is who he is and he isn’t moved by anybody.  But it wasn’t the story of his life that made me really sit up and pay attention that night.

There was one little mention of something that will forever stand out in my mind because it really shed light on the reality of who gets noticed and who fades away.

You see, Lil Wayne was driven to succeed and what he did to achieve that dream was what amazed me.

He knew he needed to be everywhere in this industry to really be noticed and that’s exactly what he did.

He put himself right in the middle of the action.  He began recording with other artists and right smack in the middle of it all, there was Lil Wayne doin’ his thing like only he knows how to do.

A person can barely even listen to a piece by a rapper or hip hop artist without hearing Lil Wayne.  He’s nothing short of genius!

Like him or hate him, it doesn’t matter.  He is who he is and he’s certainly made a name for himself doing something he loves to do.

As network marketers, we need to learn a very valuable lesson from this guy.  We need to be right in the middle of it all by placing ourselves there, raising our hand and rising to the occasion.  We need to not care what others think about us and live out our true authentic selves.

We need to be everywhere at once and with the internet, that IS possible!

Go out there and make yourself larger than life itself!

Nobody is going to do it for you.

Why 97% of Network Marketers end up DEAD in the Water with a Fish in their Mouth!

February 12th, 2010 by sabrinacoffin

Everybody knows that 97% of network marketers don’t really make a dime!

There’s an old saying and it goes like this:

“Hard work has absolutely nothing to do with progress.”

You can work as hard as you want to but if you’re moving in the WRONG direction,
you’ll end up dead in the water with a fish in your mouth!

Not pretty.

Most people HATE selling.
Most people HATE recruiting.
Most people HATE cold calls.

and

Most people HATE the fact that they spend hours upon hours each day
spinning their wheels trying to build a business online and they just
don’t have two nickels to rub together!

Sound familiar?

Yeah, I thought so.

Well, you know there are lots of people in this industry that want you to believe
that ALL you need to do is be more of YOU, think positive, visualize, be more motivated,
change your attitude, set more goals and create the hottest dream board on the block, believe in the products and create relationships with your prospects.

Add a few chants to that mix and you’ll have the real deal! NOT!

Whew, I’m exhausted already!

Look, don’t get me wrong. These things are all great but they aren’t going
to make you any real money.

But what you really need are SKILLS!

Most people want to make a lot of money and they want to do it as quickly
as possible without a lot of mess.

But without the skills, we all know you won’t be making the cash flow you desire.

Would it be okay if I pointed you in the RIGHT direction so you can spend LESS time
on your business and MORE time with your family?

You Know Your Upline Drank the MLM Kool-Aid When……

February 10th, 2010 by sabrinacoffin

no-kool-aid

  • She PATROLS your home in search of products that are manufactured by ANOTHER company.
  • She tells you to HIDE all other brands when you have friends over, because you really don’t believe in the products if you have OTHER products in your home.
  • She tells your downline you aren’t a committed leader because you are tending to your dying grandmother rather than working your business.
  • She yells at you for missing the Saturday morning call because you chose to go to your daughter’s wedding.
  • She insists your company is not MLM, even though she is being paid on MULTI-levels.
  • She believes your company is not MLM, because the company told her it’s not.
  • She believes her company is the ONLY way to make a real residual income.
  • She believes with all her heart that anyone who doesn’t join her is an IDIOT & will never make it.
  • Her only friends are in her MLM company.
  • She doesn’t call you anymore if you don’t make the autoship.
  • She doesn’t have a life outside of her MLM.
  • She eats, sleeps, drinks and breathes……her company.
  • She goes to PTA meetings and soccer games with the intention of recruiting.
  • Life outside of her MLM doesn’t exist.

Sound funny?  Think again!  It’s no fun working with someone who drank the MLM Kook-Aid.

There is FREEDOM in thinking outside the box of the traditional 9-5 and the people you partner with on your work at home journey are going to make all the difference in the world!

I’m here to have fun, meet great people, change lives and make a lot of money along the way.

How about you?

Two Simple Steps to Find Favor with Google

February 9th, 2010 by sabrinacoffin

google,gif

For those of us who are seeking to build a solid online presence,
we must develop a LOVE relationship with Google.

Sound a little intimidating?

Not really. Though it certainly is easier said than done.

But I’m always up for the challenge and I hope you are as well!

I’m going to give you 2 simple steps you need to take to get some action.

1. Keywords are KEY. Make sure the keywords you choose are relevant to your content.
The main keyword you choose should be used in your header as well as your title tag.
It’s best if you are able to use your main keyword on your page name if at all possible.
For example, if your blog or website is about “traffic generation”, then you would want
your domain name to be www.YourDomain.com/trafficgeneration.

2. You’ll want to develop a presence on various networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube,
and Better Networker. Write quality articles and post them to a site such as Ezine Articles.
When you write articles and post videos, be sure to use the same keywords and link them
back to your blog or website. This creates a spider web effect and you will gain favor with
Google.

Remember, this is going to take some time and consistency is key. Take action daily and really
take the time to think about what you are writing, the content you are providing and carefully
choose the words you use. It will pay off in the long-term.

Have You Disqualified Yourself to Receive the Prize?

February 7th, 2010 by sabrinacoffin

11finishers_m4_43“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?  Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.  They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.  Therefore, I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.  No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” 1 Cor. 10: 24-27

Application is key and while I do realize that not everyone reading this blog is necessarily going to embrace the Bible, I do want to share this message because I believe this applies to each and every one of us as human beings, regardless of our world view or life philosophy.

The pastor that delivered this message was invigorating and while he wasn’t necessarily speaking about network marketing, I am always looking for ways of sharing a message with you,  my readers,  that will inspire all of you to continue moving forward and run the race with determination and the kind of dedication it takes to win.

You see, those who are running this race must first have the desire to win.  But desire isn’t going to carry you to the finish line.  It takes discipline on your part to take action and do the activities that are necessary on a daily basis to push you forward.  Sometimes you will be stretched as a person and as a leader.   At times you may be challenged and there will be times when you might be emotionally afraid as you exercise your way to reaching the finish line.   In fact, there will even be times when you feel exhausted and frustrated, but you must continue moving forward if you intend to claim victory.

You must have the desire to win the race and the discipline to carry that desire through to the end. You must also have a determined spirit to press forward to the finish line.  It’s that determination that will give you laser focus.  While life happens, you will be able to see the bigger picture and press on in the midst of everything that is happening around you because you know where you are going and are taking action to reach your ultimate goal.  You will be like the race horse with blinders on, completely un-distracted.   You won’t make excuses as you keep your eyes on the prize.

There is also the aspect of self denial.  Have you ever stopped to take a look at yyour leaders?  Those who are running the race understand that there are going to be days when they don’t “feel” like working, yet they continue to move forward.  There is without certainly an element of sacrifice that comes with reaching your goals and sometimes that means denying yourself, keeping your head down and taking the action that is necessary to reach the finish line.

On a side note, I also want to challenge you to the realization that this really isn’t about you.  This is about helping others who are running with you and while I realize an athlete isn’t necessarily going to take an interest in helping others win, this certainly applies in network marketing.  This simple act demonstrates the character and without the character quality of putting others before yourself, you simply won’t win.  Every great leader who is laser focused on claiming victory will freely give to those who want to run alongside them.

While there is only one ‘winner’ in a competition, there will be many winners in this industry.  However, it isn’t going to be easy and the victory is certainly reserved for those who have the desire, exercise discipline, have the determination and have learned to deny themselves in order to help others along the way.  But above all,  it is your character as a leader that will allow you to shine and cross the finish line.

I’ve Got a Bone to Pick and it Ain’t No Funny Bone

February 5th, 2010 by sabrinacoffin

I was talking with a fellow network marketing buddy of mine a few days ago
and the conversation ended up making me think about a few things that
I personally feel need to be shared.

Please forgive me if I sound less than positive
but the message I am about to share needs to be aired.

There are a lot of people online that spread the message of helping others,
giving generously and not expecting anything in return.

The message does get a little blurry because we really should expect good things to come our way.
However, I am specifically referring to helping others with the intent of receiving something in return.

Okay, I’ll be frank.

Some people will only help you because they are expecting you to give them money
or buy something from them….or better yet, join them in their MLM.

Period, hit the target, end of story.

Yet, their message is quite the opposite.

They will say with their lips that they are giving without wanting anything in return,
yet their actions are what really define their belief system.

Think I’m joking?

Why not call the person who is helping you and tell them this:

“Listen, I know you have been helping me for ‘free’ but I just want to let you know that
I really have no intention on ever buying anything from you or joining you in your business.
I just want to glean some great info from you because you’ve told me you’d help me for free.”

See how long that person sticks around.

See, here’s the deal.

If a person is really going to help you without hidden motives,
they’re going to continue to help you and be a friend
even when you’ve made the decision to not join them.

Now, does that mean they are going to spend ALL their time with you?

Absolutely not, assuming they have a team they are working with.

However, in my ever-so-humble opinion (haha)
I believe we should show each other respect as fellow human beings
and help others even when we know for certain there is no money being thrown our way.

Ask around….I practice what I preach.

People are important and they should never be seen or treated like
the next dollar that is going to line your pocket, our pocket or their pocket.

There, I said it.

Take it to heart and take it to the bank.

Those who help others selflessly and without any sort of agenda will surely shine!

‘Own’ Your Own Business? Think Again!

February 3rd, 2010 by sabrinacoffin

So, a friend of yours told you all the success stories of their company
and without much thought or research, you signed on the dotted line.

You’re now the owner of your own business and you represent XYZ Company
and you’ve just slapped down about $500 bucks to get started.

Your package is due to arrive any day now and while you’re waiting
you’re encouraged to share this great ‘opportunity’ to all of your
family and friends because they need to hear about this
incredible opportunity.

Your upline may even share this little secret with you….

“The smart ones will join you.” What?

Stop right there! Before you move any farther towards the cliff,
I want you to go find your little contract you signed and READ IT!

Grab those policies and procedures of the company and READ THEM!

It’s a MUST for anyone in this industry because once you read them you
just may discover that you don’t OWN your own business at all!

You should examined the integrity of the company.
This is by far the most important part of joining any business opportunity.
Most people don’t take the time to read a contractual agreement.
The companies realize this and perhaps that is why the really nasty parts
of the policies will be found in the middle to the latter part of the agreement.
When you are reading through your contract, take your time
and have someone assist you if necessary.

Here are some of the policies that were a red flag to me when
I began searching for a company to join.
These are copied directly from the policies and procedures
of a few companies that are well known in the industry,
however, I chose to use ‘representative’ instead of the title used
by the companies to identify those who were distributing their products or services.

1) If any member of the ‘representatives’ immediate household engages
in any activity which, if performed by the ‘representative’, would violate any
company policy or any provision of the agreement, such activity will be deemed
a violation by the ‘representative’.

Hmmmm…….I am penalized for my families activity? Yikes!

2) To qualify for compensation under the company compensation plan,
‘representatives’ have the ongoing responsibility to service, supervise,
motivate, train and assist their downline.

Hmmm……Okay…..so how can I retire if I have an “ongoing responsibility”?

3) During the period that the company agreement is in force AND for
a period of twelve months after cancellation, ‘representatives’ and
all members of their immediate household are prohibited from directly,
indirectly or through a third party (WHAT?????) recruiting ANY customers or
‘representative’ to participate in any other business venture.

Geez……this meant I wouldn’t own my list of people I brought into the company!

Anyway, I’m sure you see the point here. If I wanted to own my own business,
I had certainly better find a business that would allow me to retire,
pass it along to my children, offer other business opportunities to my downline
and keep my own list!

What about you? Have you taken the time to read through the contract?
Do you really own your own business? Let me know what you discover and
as always, I’m here to help you.

What’s Your Story? The Basics on Branding

January 21st, 2010 by sabrinacoffin

After my little video I put out yesterday,
I’ve had several phone calls from those of you who
want to know more about what it means to brand yourself.

Let’s keep it simple for the sake of time.
It’s really pretty basic on the surface
and the surface is a great place to start.

So here goes….

I want you to close your eyes for a moment
and think of someone famous.

Make it the first person that comes to mind.

Now, I can just about put money on the table
that you’ll know certain facts about this person.

Where did they grow up?
Where do they live now?
What do they do for a living?
What charities are they involved with?
Kids or no kids?
Do they have hobbies?
What do they like to do for fun?
Do they like to travel?
What kind of car do they drive?
Did they have a major event in the life that was a marked turning point?
Did they go from rags to riches?
Were they ever homeless?
Were they born with a silver spoon in their mouth?

The list goes on but I think you get my point.

It’s really all about the story.  Their story.
We remember their story because it defines who they are.

Also, we need to think about our character when we
consider branding ourselves.

Let’s face it, certain people are ingrained in our brains
and once again, if we close our eyes we can see the
image of them….

On the red carpet displaying her tattoos….
Sporting a designer bag with her precious  pocket dog dangling from within….
On a motorcycle with his much younger wife in tow…
Getting hot headed on the sidelines of a Laker’s game….
In the backyard of his 3 Gazillion dollar mansion with 100’s of blondes crowding around….

I bet you can figure out who each of the people are that I just mentioned.
Why?  Because they have created a character for themselves and
they have an interesting story that we remember.

Now, what about you?

What makes you stand out in a crowd?

With thousands upon thousands of people online,
you want to be sure to stand out in a crowd.

So get to work and show us what you’ve got!
